Blasphemy! Nothing will ever come close. There's a reason this is the single greatest movie scene ever: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ0gSbcG1FI

Still, that is a pretty cool track.

have i ever posted about the paper chase? because i think i've meant to post about the paper chase. they're like if horror movies and danny elfman put together an off-broadway performance. theatric and over-the-top, but really good.

Interesting.

To add to that...

Not sure if Toxic Sweat's lead singer was in the house, or if Ted Leo's toxic sweat caused one of their amps to start smoking. Either way great show. And I learned I need to see the movie the Jerk...

Titus Andronicus just released an album entitled The Monitor. It is a 70-minute literal/allegorical concept album based around the famous Civil War naval conflict. Oh my god you guys.

I'm pretty much a stereotypical drunk nerd programmer... and calm down. It's just two more weeks. I should go again.

I never knew there was a famous Civil War naval conflict.

Only 3 more weeks to MSC/Fun!

I recall hearing about this quite some time ago (like 4-5 years ago), who knew it has actually taken off? Why haven't I been watching this? Though that probably also explains why we haven't seen a new Aquabats CD since 2005... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35993435/ns/entertainment-television/

Big D and the Kids Table played a show at UMass Dartmouth and a friend of mine knows the drummer, so even though I'm not really into them much anymore we hung out with him before the show and drank beers for like an hour and he humored my request for them to play 51 Gardner. It was a weird show since it was in an auditorium and there was like 10 feet between the stage and seats, so that's where we were all standing while a bunch of people sat down. Also, I was fucked out of my head on liquor and Klonopin, so that was fun. And the $10 ticket price went to cancer research, so it was a win/win evening!

man Big D never played at UMD when I was going there. All I got was Michael Moore. Well that was cool too.

Ted Leo was amazing. Timorous me was a transcendent experience. But holy shit did the Screaming Females blow m away.

I hope Ted didn't have any amp problems this time. Were those the openers? Sounds like they beat the openers when I saw Ted Leo.

Friday I saw MCS and Fun. Which was a damn good show, even if a tad on the short side.

Next up is the lamely name Verge fest in Milwaukee. Weezer, Cold War Kids, and She & Him. Oh yeah.

Ungh, Cold War Kids are amazing. Have fun with that.

I'm going to see Titus Andronicus on Monday. Pretty stoked.

Screaming Females are seriously good. The singer is like five feet tall, has hair covering almost her entire face and wears ankle-length puritan dresses as she shreds her comically oversized guitar and fucking WAILS out vocals. So awesome.

Wow. They are interesting. I'd say yeah, they beat the openers I saw (Title Tracks? Has someone from Q and not U but I wouldn't have known that unless someone told me).

It's a month and a half until that Verge show... I'm in NJ for a week or so at the start of May and I'm hoping to get over to the City at least once to see "something".

yeah, john davis was the q and not u drummer. he released a good album under the name georgie james. i like title tracks, but i get how they'd be boring live if you weren't familiar with them.
