Wow, seems you have to manually refresh that portable ID thingy. Lame.

Though I just did to make sure the whole world knows how great I am at video games.

And that run-in I had with Sandman in Batman AA? Awesome. More games need sequences like that. Where's Eternal Darkness 2?

I've had Batman AA 2 months now and I still haven't beat it:( Same for Bioshock, Braid, Torchlight, anything I've bought in the past 3 months... I'm a horrible person.

So I thought maybe I'd play some AA tonight... when I get a text from a friend saying, "Don't turn on your PS3! Not a test! Check Gizmodo!"

Strange source, but sure enough... Sigh. Damn programmers suck. Probably be fine in a day once this non-existent leap day passes, but by then I won't want to play...

well thanks for actually explaining the problem! I had to go to that site just to find out. I don't see why this would stop you from playing a single player offline game though. Maybe there were TWO stories about PS3 and I missed the one mentioned turning on your system will brick it.

Speaking of PS3, I downloaded the latest DLC for Valkyria Chronicles and just started playing it today. I figured after all this time I would have no interest in that game, but damn it is STILL fun. I'd say after the Uncharteds, it's the best PS3 exclusive.

Oh and I played through Heavy Rain this past week. It's pretty short but the story branches in so many places that I'm sure it's worth playing again. I won't, but my one playthrough was really good.

*EDIT* Ok so now I see that it's actually an internal clock issue and to be safe, I decided to not use my ps3 until the problem fixes itself. It SHOULD fix itself later today...

Sorry. I'm not in QA. It's not my job to explain problems. Plus it was on every imaginable tech/game site/blog... Yeah, it sounded more like it could screw up your downloaded games or, gasp, your trophies. All seems good now.

Valkyria Chronicles seems too crazy for me to handle. Too much thinking. Too much micro management. Wait, what about MGS4?!

Heavy Rain seems cool, but not $60 cool. I'll wait for a massive price drop.

Alright first, I read your post late and hadn't checked the usual places in a while. I was honestly shocked that I didn't know myself. Secondly, Valkyria Chronicles is not a lot of micro managedment. It's like Fire Emblem strategy mixed with some realtime combat. I was honestly shocked that I ended up liking it so much because the way you described it is exactly what i THOUGHT it was going to be like. You can still try the demo. I'm pretty sure it's real cheap at this point.

Heavy Rain was great but I'd be disappointed if I paid $60 for it.

Whoo! I just preordered Galaxy 2 on Amazon, since it comes with a $20 credit. $30 for the sequal to Wii's best game? Sold.

Might use it at some point on Metroid or 3D Dot Heroes (which looks cool and is under $40). Might pre-ordered Mod Nation Racers, with its $10 credit. For some reason even though I never played it a ton, the $27 (when you include the $10 credit it also has) Super Street Fighter 4 on Amazon is also taunting me...

I'd say get Super SF4 but then you'd get it on ps3 and I wouldn't benefit at all. I'd tell tork to get it, but our systems are NOT ALLOWED to play online together. Maybe super would be different?

The only other game in April that I'm interested in is Monster Hunter Tri, and even the demo was a little boring. The lack of a keyboard and standard headset is another issue.

I forget when it's coming out, but I'm pretty stoked for the new Hydro Thunder. I got to play it as PAX and it was good.

Funny you should say that because Sega just announced a Wii port of La Machineguns (and some other game). Sure it wasn't on the dreamcast, but it was made by Dreamcast-era Sega and we all know that the system was so great because of all their arcade games.
