I checked, you can NOT use the GBA player to hook-up to your GC. For one you need a boot disc in your GC to play GBA games. That port on front I think is to use your GBA as a controller to play games.

Well I've gone and done it. I traded my GC... for a GBA... for 2 months. Jerk doesn't have a GC (hence no GC-GBA adapter) and no Metroid Fusion. But...

Man, Advance War kicks ass. A nice turn based strategy game done very well on such a small screen. A MUST for any GBA owner (but who doesn't have it by now, I'm just late to the GBA party). They need this for GC. Same for Golden Sun (though I only played 10 minutes so far). The surpise for me so far has been Wario Ware. An addictive little game. The super fast pace I think keeps you from having a chance to think "this sucks", but it's still a fun road game. Ah, good ol' fly Swatter...

Is that what its come to? Pasting AIM converstations to take up a post?

I'll just add Advance Wars and Wario Ware are the perfect compliments. One is mind-numbing simple fun, while one requires more thought and planning. One is lighning fast, one turn based. One is strickly a GBA thing, one could use a full console version.

Bone that's the stupidest idea ever! Why the hell would they put Wario Ware on a console? It makes no freaking sense!

Well I just read gamerfeed's review of this little peripheral and I took note of this key paragraph:

Quote:
What's left to consider is how the machine has the potential to increase in value over time if companies continue to use software that keeps it in mind. For example, Sword of Mana allows two players to play simultaneously on one television screen when the game recognizes it's being played on a GB Player. You'll simply need a second controller to fully enjoy it. Another instance is Final Fantasy Tactics Advance which incorporates three display modes in its options menu: GBA, GBA SP, and GB Player. All three change the values of the brightness, contrast, and saturation in very subtle ways as to fully take advantage of the system they're being played on. It's this kind of foresight and consideration that will ultimately reinforce the sheer dexterity and richness of the GB Player's life.

Now if companies (mainly Nintendo, Konami, Capcom, and Square) really take advantage of GB player specific abilities, then we could have more 2 player options like in Sword of Mana. Hell, maybe I'll get that game some day. It would be nice if it were incorporated into Advance Wars 2, but i guess it doesnt matter for a game like that because you can essentially play with 2 controllers already. By that I mean the GB player has the ability to recognize multiple controllers as if it were plugged into port 1. I hope I'm not confusing anyone. Hopefully I'll pick this up at work today, but originally it was supposed to be Wednesday...

I bet you're right. "GC2" will have a GBA player built-in. Hopefully replacing the useless GC-GBA connection.

Though I still think GBA's sole use is as a portable system, not something I'd sit and play at home. The only game I've played that goes against this is Advanced Wars. Everything else I'd only play on the road when all I had was a GBA, from Castlevaina to Wario Ware. I mean with systems like PS2 and GC, why would I want to play what is essentially a SNES?

EDIT: Once again I need to clarify things. I may have misspoke a bit. It's not that I can't enjoy GBA games, it's just when at home I'd MUCH rather just play a GC/PS2/whatever game then what often feels like a miniturized game on the GBA (and I'm not just talking about screen size).

Yes well i got rid of my GBA since i drive myself places and rarely use aeroplanes. The player works great and makes games more enjoyable with the use of the GC controller and more visibility. I dont see anything wrong with going back and playing SNES games, so using the GBA player to play new yet outdated graphicly games is ok in my book.
