Not that NOG was doing bad (~15 viewers a day), nor do I give a rats ass what it gets. It takes no time (except to write the stuff), so whatever.
Just oddly, EVO now linked via evo.nbrid.net (NOG is the main www.nbrid.net link), gets twice that much still. I only came aware of the problem when I got an email from Portland (where EVO is this very second) that I was over bandwidth quota, way over.
I looked at WebTrends stats and it gets about 33 uniques a day? WTFH? Further research showed most of this was coming from google. I wish I knew what people were searching for to bring up Evo.
Even odder is the fact that people dont just go there, they are actually reading the articles. Wowzers.... Seriously, according to webtrends even with EVO NOT BEING UPDATED it's doing as well as it ever has?????
I'm thinking fuck NOG and just put EVO back even if it just sits there. NOG really was just to see a test of how it functioned. And I can say it's so easy to use I can't go back to the clunky Evo way. Maybe someday NOG-ify EVO for instant posting and such, but it seems mute.
Here are some 'fun' stats for LAST WEEK ONLY at EVO:

NBrid.net - The History of NB Chat: From # hybrid to #nbrid nbrid.port5.com/articles/editorials/ features/webmaster1019506811.php
Hmm, after looking at that I notice most of those arn't even the "current" headlines so there is a good chance people are going directly to some of those pages from their Google search. So how much is read is still questionable, but it's mute (I like that word....) |

it seems klam is getting lots of recognition for his past efforts. I think people are looking for all kinds of media and somehow...we come up near the top in a google search. Then again, it's really weird how the History of NBrid is a big reader.
Something funny to note, I came here thinking I would post on how I felt like crap after seeing bone doing 98.7% of all the posts at NOG. Now I read this? Im definately surprised. If only I had some motivation, I could get something done. Alas, even Noncentric isn't updated as often as we originally planned. If possible, NOGifying Evo would be amazing and I would love to touch upon a few graphic details (very minimal) that I couldnt get done before. Are the flash links even working now? What a weird situation indeed. |

I dont think that account at Portland will last much longer since they only give you 100meg bandwidth and so far in Sept Evo has used twice that. Ops.:)
So I'm gonna copy Evo back to Nicewebs (as had been planned anyways). I dunno what then. I wouldn't have a problem working on rescripting it NOG style, but not sure if its worth the bother. At least not as things are right now. So who knows.
I think a better move would just to give this board a kick in the ass again....
Free Webtrends is ending so on NOG I had been using DK3 (not nearly as comprehensive, but gives the interesting stuff, plus unlike free webtrends it not only gives the domain of referring links but the whole link so you could figure out what people searched for...). Just "for fun" I'm going to try it at Evo and even here just to get an idea of where people come from. At NOG at least 90% were from sigs it seems. Just today I see a link from a STD post klam did 5 months ago, odd.... |

| odd indeed. We use webtrends at Noncentric but...I haven't checked that in like 3 weeks. Where can I get this DK3? As for the site/board situation. I really don't know what to do. Whenever something ambitious is put on the table or a new look, it helps for maybe a month and then its back to the old very very slow grind. The only real way to succeed is to have at least 3 or 4 dedicated writers and a little more advertising. Where can we get that? |

At www.dk3.com silly:) It might not be the best, and the stat pages when you view them are full of popups, but it works well for me and doesn't even leave a graphic on pages you are collecting stats for.
On a side not, I checked out some of the keywords people have searched for to find the sites. For evo it seems searches for some kind of "fan art" (from namco to captain planet) is the force behind most hits. Wouldn't of guessed that. On NOG its hits are from all over (abbie doobie? korn suxs? where is waldo? WTF...). Not sure why the site seems to come up so high on hits for Xbox.
As for anything else, beats me.
