Well, the debate continues. You should all know NbKiLLa2K's any my thoughts (if not go read that headline on the site;) . I'm looking for which you like better on DC, don't compare the PC versions.

Results (total votes = 16):
Quake III Arena 8 / 50.0%
Unreal Tournament 8 / 50.0%

Can someone who likes UT more tell my why? Specifically how can you get over:

1) The crappy online interface (small chat text, can't change teams, no player ping rate, can't enter in server name to play on, ect ect...).

2) Lame controls (mouse scroll wheel doesn't work well to change weapons, can't set it up how you like (so no controller/mouse combo for one), auto-aim, ect...)

I like the gameplay of UT, and 8 players and more maps is nice, but I just can't say it's the overall better game on DC.

well i didnt vote one way or the other but i CAN awnser a few of your gripes....
1) dude i know the frame rate is bad but it really has not affected me that much it took me 5 minutes to get used to and now im fine with it.
2) the mouse wheel DOES work fine it just like the frame rate takes some time to get used to. Its no big deal each lil move on the wheel selects the next weapon so lets say you have the biorifle and a flak cannon you just have to move the wheel 6 times because the flak cannon is 6 numbers higher. sounds annoying but once again it is something that you cope with and get used to.
3) also i like the weapon choices better in UT than Quake. First off Quakes weapons seemed generic in appearence and in stature i mean a shot gun a rocket launcher a machine gun a grenade launcher a bfg and a lightning gun really arent the most origonal ideas. UT has unique weapons like the flak cannon bio rifle redeemer and the ripper all of which have 2 modes of firing.
I enjoyed quake immensly and they are 2 different games altogether Q3 requires time and effort to master while UT offers a more balanced playing field BUT those who play a lot will have an edge
its just a matter of opinion i guess.....

Let me respond... just for fun of course:)

1) I don't like the framerates, but that has NOTHING to do with why I like Q3A better.

2) Yeah, on PC it's more the one click per weapon (unlike in DC's Q3A), but in DC UT it doesn't seem to always change when you want it to.

3) I too like UT's weapon selection with their secondary functions. But they are almost too even. I won the other day ONLY using my hammer and enforcer.

I'd like to point out that you used words like "get used to" and learn to "cope with". I don't remember having to use these words with Q3A... which is exactly why I pick Q3A over UT on DC.
