Remember when E3 was for privileged eyes only?

The common public had to wait 3 weeks for the MEGA-EGM or Gamepro issue.

Man times have changed.

I dumb. I didn't even realize until today E3 is this week... though it seems there will be a ton of focus on motion controls and maybe 3D. I'm not buying a new TV (or DS) for 3D, and while the tech behind Kinetic sounds cool, call me when games are more interesting than Wii remakes.

MGS Rising - Lightning bolt action? Not sure what to make of that yet... Though Raiden is a bad ass, now. Slicing everything? I'm slightly afraid this will be Kinetic/Move compatible.

Ok, that Child of Eden game looked really cool.

Oh man the 3DS is gonna be so awesome. Even if the 3d aspect of it sucked it looks like the power of the system and the software will be great. Better be region free like the DS.

I didn't really care about the 3DS going into E3 this year, but man I will need one on day 1 now. There's already a great lineup coming and it I'm not even thinking about the 3d features yet. God give me my starfox 64 remake right now.

Before E3, I joked about how this year Microsoft and Sony would be all about motion controls and casual games and Nintendo would barely touch on it and instead focus on real games. Somehow that actually came true! Well aside from Sony actually having real games for Move and not just tech demos like Kinect. Nintendo's conference is what fanboys want every year and this time they (I?) got it. It's too bad that zelda demonstration went so poorly. I'll be cautiously optimistic about it for now.

Eh, I still don't care. My pre-ordered iPhone 4 is all I need:)

I do like what was shown in videos of the new Zelda. I can always go for new Zelda. Beyond that though, eh. After Galaxy I don't really want or need any 2D platformers. Retro is wasted on a DKC. No StarFox beyond a remake of 64. No F-Zero. And still no Pikmin 3? WTF?

It is cool to see a new Twisted Metal, but part of me wonders if there's a reason that genre died out 8 years ago...

And while I still have doubts they can pull it off, I loved Portal so much that Portal 2 is easily my most anticipated game from all this.

You know, I wish Retro was working on another sci-fi epic adventure game, but the new DKC looks really good. They said in an interview that they didn't just copy ideas directly from the original games and it already looks like the platforming is going to be more interesting. Of course anything with co-op is better as well.

I always go into E3 hoping for a new awesome IP and for me that may end up being Vanquish. Gears style gameplay with crazy japanese (mikami) action? Sold. Though it's funny to say "new IP" since I don't think Platinum wants to make sequels.

It's hard to ever get excited about new IPs at E3. Too much of an unknown. They're overrated anyway. Well, ok Borderlands was cool. And does Arkham Asylum count as a new IP even though it's Batman?

Portal 2, MvC3, Journey. That's all I need.

I got Phoenix Wright and Monkey Island for my iPhone. What's your point Tork? My point is ChuChu Rocket is coming to iPhone! Nice.

The only news otherwise I've heard is PSO2 is in the works! Will it suck? Quite possibly. But it's good to see them at least try. I can't wait...

PSO2 seems like a joke. We've already had tons of PSO games. What makes this one the direct sequel to the dreamcast/gamecube series? Whatever, if it plays more like the DS game than the Universe/PSP games, I'm optimistic.

I'm wondering if maybe they will include all the PSO v1/2 areas in it and that's the rationale for it being a 'direct' sequel. Would be kinda cool... maybe. I'd rather see a console version, but then you split the XBLA/PSN crowd.

I heard it was only announced on PC so far because Sega wanted integrated servers and was in talks with Microsoft. It's nice to be hopeful.

Enough with the crap I don't care about! 3D! Motion controls! Halo! Vita! Next!

Now, I'm intrigued to see what Nintendo can bring...

The Vita and its price have got me interested now. I'm excited about what Nintendo will reveal. Haven't cared for a E3 in awhile but this year seems pretty good. I guess it also helps I own a system in which games show at E3 will be released on.

p.s. This E3 needs more Uncharted 3 footage.

Edit: As I finish typing that P.S. I find there is a new trailer.

There were some interesting points. Maybe Kinect can finally make motion controls work beyond waggle, by augmenting controls instead of replacing them. The 3D "dual view" for multiplayer is a cool idea. And $250 for Vita (the same price for 3DS) was surprising.

Nintendo right now is talking up the 3DS. I just don't really have any interest in handhelds. For on the go gaming, iPhone is good enough. At home, 3DS isn't enough.

Enough Pokemon AR! Bring on this new console companion that is "deeper and wider"!
