So I'm working on a game now (sort of). Currently I'm just working on 2d sprites for the characters. Originally I had intended "Project Rudra" to be an action game, but as a non-programmer, a fighting game means I can jump in and get started right away. I still intend on making an action game with these characters as I already have levels and story planned out. For now, I will use this thread to update you guys on its progress.
I decided that I will work on the 2 main heroes before I do anything else. I created a simple stance and crouching animation for Zetch, but I am going to have to go back and change a bunch of things now that I have a better grasp at pixel art. For now, here is the WIP stance for the character Tomoe:
I plan on adding more frames but right now it is at 8. I mainly want the hair and some of the clothing to pop up a little for a single frame as she dances back and forth, adding that "bounce" that all animation needs. I'm still toying with the idea of little music notes popping up over her head when she opens her mouth. Basically she's sort of singing and dancing while she fights. It conveys her optimistic nature.
Anyways, let me know what you think. I'll hopefully have this stance finished by the end of the week so I can move back to Zetch and his own standing animation. |

How about 4 more frames?
I would like even MORE frames to make the skirt bounce a little more natural and maybe some floatier hair but I have to move on! |

The music fits since it almost seems like she's playing a piano. The hair/skirt animations are quite bouncy, I'd like to see her jump...
I don't know what a WIP stance is, but the only criticism I'd have is I don't know how she fights with those yellow, umm. What are those yellow things on her hands? |

Daggers. Makes sense. I know every time I hear anything by Celine Dion it's like daggers through my heart...
Wait, fly though? How is that fair? |

| yeah i probably should have mentioned that she wouldnt fly in the middle of a fight. It's an ability she would have in the action game and she's going to float down in her introduction animation. |

Updated Zetch crouch:
It's quick for the sake of faster links. The standing animation is just the crouch reversed right now but I dont think it would be too tough to change those frames a little so it makes more sense. I have an idle animation for the crouch in mind but I think I'll work on his stance next. |

Faster links? It's nice and fluid, but too much so. Guys going to get his ass kicked before he finishes that crouch one time...
Are those bandages on his arms (not sure what to call them) wet? That could really hurt if they are... Ouch. |

Makes sense. What do you call that floating green dot of death?
Is that their MAG? |

| I call that a guide marker that I didn't feel like deleting from every layer just to make the gif. I am going to have to remove those things eventually... |

MAGS are so awesome.
Id say just more frames for more fluid motion. Do the threads work as weapons? |
