Hybrid's new art thread...because I can!

No one goes anywhere else...hell no one comes HERE! I don't have a method of feedback on my site and I would really like some on this particular piece. In the future, I may put some more links in here as well. Anyways, please click this link and tell me if you think it's "done." Mainly look towards the bottom left of the tank. I just really don't feel like working on this thing anymore.

I didn't play Valkyria Chronicles because it looked gay. I mean graphically it looked cool, but the game itself...

I like that jpg though and it looks 'done' to me. A couple questions remain though...

-Why is Skies or Arcadia on the tank?
-Remember I didn't play the game, but is it a sexually charged game? I certainly get that vibe from this jpg...
-Is it me or is the guy pointing on top of the tank 1) Missing his left arm and 2) That guy from the Mr Bot comics?

1. It's developed by the same team that did skies so you can get Vyse and Aika as playable characters for your team. They don't wear their Skies outfits but I wanted to distinguish everyone somehow.

2. Everything japanese is sexually charged. The only thing that seems to insinuate "bodily relations" is the grey haired chick holding the top chick's leg because in her story, she has a "thing" for her. You'd have to be a grade A moron to NOT put the only lesbian available on your team. Also she hates men so the sight of Vyse is freaking her out.

3. The guy is grabbing the chick's shoulder. It's a strange angle, but after a couple redraws I dont know how to show it any more accurately. Also it's just you.


I dont remember if I made this analogy before but Valkyria Chronicles is like Fire Emblem meets Ghost Recon.

Yeah, I don't know. But you just unsold me on the game (not that there was any chance of a sell). I will never play a FE game again. It's one of those things you do once so you can say you did it, but I feel no desire to put myself through a game again where once you die, you stay dead.

1. Makes sense. I never would have known who it was otherwise.
2. Good point. I agree. But Aika still looks a bit too happy where she is...

Don't think of all the deaths, think of the fantastic strategy! Though it's true that you can permanently lose some of you squadmates, I think I had to start maybe 2 missions over because of it. This is because they do not die forever unless you let 3 turns pass without rescuing them or the enemy touches them.

Also you can save midmission so if you screw up badly, you can just reload your save. Some may call it cheap, but most missions are an hour long and it's nice to have this feature. Of course I didn't realize it existed until I had already finished half the game so it's like the game got suddenly WAY easier at that point.

Aika...really is a little too happy there. Damnit.

I should probably play Crono Cross someday. I assume you're talking about Zaka (guy with the bandana).

I like the MrBot on the main page, nice. And how the white box opens. The black box seems a bit broken though in that I can't vertically scroll the page.

And I hate myself, but I do that enough on my own. I don't need to stinkin' bot's help.

you're not supposed to scroll sucka! if you want to see an image in full with scrollbars, you just have to click the button that opens the image in a popup window. It would be nice if you could scroll just the image within the gallery though. Oh well.

I'm not sure how I feel about the background because I really didn't want a basic white background, but I also did not want to spend the time making a fully fledged background. I probably could have put stronger shadows in this, but I sort of like how this turned out.

The "bitch" on the right is very uptight. She has her arms very snug against her body. I have no idea how she gets much force behind her swings.

She's not swinging, she's blocking. I'm glad you caught on to the "uptight" nature of the character. I shouldn't call any of my characters bitches because they are very dear to me.

Sometimes I think about making a deviantart account so I can get more feedback on my stuff...but it seems like a haven for furries and naruto fanart.

And what do you expect from a site called "deviant"art. Though what site on the internet isn't a haven for furries and naruto...

I went to deviantart after posting this and sure enough, the main page had numerous naruto fanart drawings.

Um, the one on the right is blocking the "attack" from the one on the left.

I just don't know what the hell to do about backgrounds. I was going to draw a sky behind him, but I kind of just threw up some blues and was done with it. For some reason, I can't get painter or photoshop to make proper gradients and I don't know why.
