What are the first five games you'd make your child play?

Games today are a completely different beast than they were back when we were kids. As responsible parents, we will eventually have to make sure that our children don't jump head first into anything "next-gen" until they develop an appreciation for their roots. So once your child has the ability, which FIVE games will you force upon them before they have the chance to be corrupted?

I'd say...

-Super Mario Bros: even though 3 and 4 are superior, this really should be the first game every kid plays.
-Kirby Superstar: it's only natural that I force my spawn to play my favorite SNES game.
-Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time: it's likely that I'd force LTTP on this kid as well, but it's not quite as necessary.
-Megaman X: X controls better and is simply more enjoyable than all the Megamen before it.
-Super R-Type: It's tough to choose the right shmup in this situation, but I might as well plant the seed with one of my first.

Interesting... I'd want to think about this one. But off the top of my head:

Mario 3 (who cares what's first, gotta play the best)
Lolo (help improve their brain power)
BattleToads (because I'm evil...)
Zelda: A Link to the Past (again, gotta play the best)
NBA Jam (a gateway game to the power of the Beastie Boys)


I'm thinking since this is for a kid, I shouldn't include more 'mature' offerings... otherwise I'd have to include Metal Gear and MGS...

I don't understand. If you were to include the best zelda game, why would you have him play LTTP? Your logic is flawed.

The state keeps taking away all of the children I have, but if one ever sticks around for a while, I'll make the brat play:

Super Mario Bros
Zelda LTTP
Castlevania SOTN
Chrono Trigger
Starcraft...

Then I wouldn't feed them for a week.
