| its easy when all i do is listen to music at work and while i'm doing things at home. every week or so i grab a bunch of new (or new to me) stuff, put it on my iphone and go through it over the course of the next seven days. |

| i'm late to the animal collective bandwagon because everything else i've heard by them has been borderline insufferable, but merriweather post pavilion is soooooooooooooo good. |

Good for you. Personally I think even that album is vastly overrated. I flat out don't like it.
On the plus side, I was in St. Louis over the weekend and visited the coolest record store I've ever been to: Vintage Vinyl. Picked up Fun, The Bottlerockets, and another So Many Dynamos. Those last two being St. Louis affiliated bands of course... |

Why... why did you remind me I have their CD:( Maybe I was a big fan of peanut butter back then?
For some reason I just felt the need to listen to Biz Markie's Just a Friend. Make fun of that song and I kill you. |

Interesting. And not as scary as les savy fav...
On another note I saw Maps & Atlases (and a few other bands like Ra Ra Riot and Margot) over the weekend at Madison's Forward Festival. Damn good stuff. |

| I could never get into Margot. I like Children's Crusade on Acid & My Baby Shoots Her Mouth Off well enough, but most of their music just sounds like an uninteresting, dreary soundscape to me. They're like Broken Social Scene's antithesis. |

I really liked Margot's Dust of Retreat, after that... yeah. Broken Social Scene are a million times better. Don't compare the two again.
I've had enough of the whiny Indie music as of late. So I've been cranking a little techno/mix/dance in Girl Talk all weekend. Mixing Avril with JayZ followed up with Hey Mickey is pure genius... This is nothing like Atari Teenage Riot or Arctic Monkeys. |

I love Girl Talk because his albums allow me to nerd out. Like, when I first heard Feed the Animals I freaked out because the first 3 seconds is a sample of a Unicorns song.

Such a stupid thing to recognize from such a simple snare beat. Also, Girl Talk's Night Ripper and Go! Team's Proof of Youth have become my default "closing up" albums at work. Well, last night was Alkaline Trio, but that's because we had beers and I felt like singing. |

Nice. I wish I could have "closing up" albums at work... and beers.
I watched Shaun of the Dead recently (bluray!), and now I find myself playing Queen a lot. Not sure why...
On a side note, I've deleted all Death Cab for Cutie from my iPhone and iPod. I think we all know why ((shakes fist at no one in particular)) |

| I still listen to Death Cab every now and then, but only when it comes up randomly in my mp3 playlist. Did I miss something? |

| New albums by Built to Spill and Farewell. I'm shamelessly addicted to one and kinda underwhelmed by the other. WHICH IS WHICH? |
