Well if we were to play this, we would be put in a random server. From there we have to level up to earn money in order to buy a world pass so we can travel to other servers. From there you can create a NEW character and finally play with your friends that are already massively leveled up over you. So yeah, im not playing this right now.

the joke of that statement is by the time you got the money your friend wouldn't be massively leveled.

having spent 3 months playing this game it would take maybe 4 or 5 hours to get 3000 gil which would buy a world pass to anywhere.

The biggest gap in levels would be 10 levels(meaning you're lvl 1 and your friend is lvl 10) and you can easily catch up to him within a day of playing since past lvl 10 gets pretty difficult.

I guess I can see how it'd be hard for people who don't know what they're doing.

If you really want a specific server just delete/create your character over and over til you randomly get the server you want to be on.

Personally I'm waiting for the PS2 release. Theres not enough servers that are new for the PC release(only 1 new) and thats because the PC release isn't really the 'main' release.

Yeah if I get this game, it will be for the PS2. So ask again come Feb/March whenever the hell its supposed to come out. Even then there are no guarntees, for tomorrow we may all be dead. But how is that different from any other day...

Well blame it on Penny-Arcade's adament belief that FFXI is a pain in the ass. I haven't played it yet. I am thinking about getting this but I have no set plans as of now.

personally from what they've said about it they don't seem to have really played it much during the beta. They probably never got a character past lvl 15 meaning they didn't spend much time on it since these types of games don't really pick up til atleast past lvl 30.

uhhh 200$??? The ps2 version has been CONFIRMED to be 100$.

You buy the HDD for 100$ and FFXI comes with it for free(kinda like EQOA coming with the network adaptor for free).

a browsers supposed to come out for it sometime, i'm not sure when.

Its not just a regular HDD it has media functionality too like you can put CDs on it now and listen to it in games(when they start supporting this) and osme other stuff thats been announced.
