10 reasons why GC kicks PS2 and Xbox's ass!

Man, everyone is losing faith in the GC it seems. But im pretty sure they will get it back when RE4, MK D, and VJ come out later this yr/next yr. I still have alotta faith in my GC b/c I still dont own Prime, Sunshine, ED, Animal Crossing, Ikagura, etc.

Eh, outside of Nbrid, the people that i deal with in gamestop are doing the opposite. They're taking more of an interest in GC than before, though obviously most people buy PS2 stuff, with Xbox selling more than GC stuff. It's a much better environment than reading about people complaining about only owning a few games and how nothing is going their way. It's not that I don't want online or some more exclusives, but I really don't see the point of complaining when I own a great deal of cube games. I especially like how my co-workers support the cube.

Well, now is the time for replies on my support for a system that I (god forbid) actually enjoy playing. Feel free to make fun of my co-workers as well who all say they play their PS2 the least out of the 3.

To be honest, there are only three things keeping me from selling GC:

1) It's not worth it just for the 50 bucks.
2) To complete my Nintendo console collection.
3) Metroid Prime 2.


Everyone has their reasons. But please, saying one reason is GC isn't cool is fucking dumb. I'm sorry. Do you have a self-esteem problem or something?

I wondered the same thing about the 'coolness' factor, Bone. If owning systems is cool, I own all 3, so that makes me....Super-Justin TimberLake-Cool!!! YES!!!

Let's put it this way -- Would you rather have something really cool, or something really lame? I say that I'm ashamed to be associated with it because I feel it was a horrible purchasing mistake on my part. It's not really that it's uncool and everyone will make fun of me blah blah blah, cause we all know I'm king of uncool, I just happen to have more fun playing 2 games on my cell phone than I did playing however many I did on GC.

I enjoy my gamecube quite a bit..when you have 2 other brothers, and a sis., you can always have fun with Super Monkey Ball 2, and every saturday me and my amigos play 4 players games from about 6 to 12 or so... You Should have kept it for multiplayer Mayhem!!!

Metroid, Zelda, ED, and the Monkey Balls made the GC "worth it" for me. And I certainly wouldn't say cel phone games are more enjoyable... but, after those, PS2 and Xbox both look better.


It might vary from place to place, but from where I stand people are interested in GC less and less. I mean what would cause people to give it a chance now when games like Metroid and Zelda didn't? It can't be Link in SC2 because if someone was such a big Link fan they would already have a GC for TWW. I can't believe such a niche game as Viewtiful Joe would do it. What's left? Mario Kart and F-Zero are the cause? Sunshine showed what Mario is worth now days. I see nothing that would make people suddenly want a GC over Xbox or Ps2.

Was it X Play who said the had a blast at the Nintendo E3 booth. But it was only 1 or 2 games, and overall they just 'weren't feeling it' from them right now.


Gotta love the diehards. The ones who played the Splinter Cell demo and said it was crap and 'they don't like those types of games". But then scream for MGS:TS because it's gonna kick ass! ...do they even know what kind of game MGS is? Or by their 'type of game' do they mean because its exclusive to GC and made by Nintendo? Get real./

I dont think the cube will take 2nd place in america before the next generation, and even in the next one I think it will be tough to stick 2nd place, let alone 1st. However I do think that Mario Kart will be a big success for Nintendo. Most people our age have fond memories of 2 games: Goldeneye and Mario Kart 64. When this new Mario Kart game comes out, it will not only sell to current GC owners, but people that just want to play the new mario kart. Ive read the same thing at different message boards. People are willing to buy the cube for Mario Kart alone. Though this will be good for Nintendo, it won't be any kind of savior. Luckily I am personally enjoying the ride

What saved N64's ass was its MUCH better multiplayer games, and yes Mario Kart was part of that. But the best selling N64 games were GoldenEye, Mario 64, Zelda OOT, Smash Bros., and Star Fox (I think). Already we have seen sequals (in some shape or form) for all those but GE, and did they help GC? No. Throw in the RE's which were some of the best selling games on PSX, and if none of these could help GC's cause, MKDD won't. It (and others like F-Zero) will be big games, but like TWW, only for those who already have a GC. Any big Nintendo fan already has a GC.


Maybe 1st, 2nd doesn't really matter, but if "GC2" does as poorly as GC, there won't be a "GC3".
