Sony's dropped the price of the PS2 to 179$ for the time being in anticipation of the PS2's coming in June that have built in network adaptors, built in dvd infrared reciever and some other DVD features, the price of these will go back to 200$ in June.

Microsoft dropped the xbox's price to 179$ shortly after.

FFXI will be released in q1 2004 alongside with the harddrive.

The 200 buck PS2 + adapter is nice.... damn them.

Also damn them for FFXI in 2004. This and Halo 2 are leaving me with so few 'big' games to look forward to this year! 2003's biggest games seems to saddly have come out already...

And any word on this whole HDD deal? All I read is some crap like the HDD would come with FFXI, but FFXI would not nessasarily come with the HDD? WTF? Meaning it is optional and two packages for the game?

nobody really knows anything other than the fact that the 2 are being packaged together would make the price somewhere around 100$ which is pretyt good considering the HDD alone in japan was around 120$

Whelp, this is what I've been waiting for. I'll be picking up an XBOX within a month or so... Hernia belt in tow. Hopefully I'll be on Live when 2.0 launches.

lol xbox is big ^__^

Whelp? And where is the rumored resdesinged Xbox S that was supposed to be smaller?
