E3 2002 - It's here.......

So far it seems very ho-hum, but it's VERY early. XB definitely has thrown the most punches....

XB did get a mini-coup in having Ninja Gaiden be an XB exclusive now. XB will be the first to get the MGS compilation game and CS. Shenmue 2 looks quite nice now on XB, quite nice... but looks arn't everything as we know all to well. This to go along with the already announced Xbox Live and such games. Plus the just announced TaoFeng, Blink, and Tork, yes, TORK games. (Hmm....).

PS2 has Sims, the next GTA, FF11 confired for release in the US this year, Navy Seals (online), Sega's Soccer Slam now on PS2 (and XB), Star Wars Galaxies, ect. No big surprises right now. Just a solid (and big) lineup as usual.

Nintendo, well. They showed new movies on Mario, Metroid, and Zelda (which won't be out this year don't forget). Let's hope more is to come, or else N is in trouble.....

So far those cries of "wait for E3" have shown to yet again be a flase hope... but we'll see....

Oh yeah, for PS2 it's called GTA: Vice City. Don't get too excited but they annouced an online version of Frequency for PS2!

And I just saw RE Online for PS2. Wow, I thought this was going to be some shooting game ala Gun Survivor, but it looks like a full fledge surival-horror adventure game to play online with 4 players... RE0 who? There went RE being a GC exclsuive (well RE0 and RE4 may still be, but.... online, drool).

Supposedly at Sony's conferance they said Soul Calibur 2 was going to be a PS2 exclsuive, but many said this was a mistake. It will be just first on PS2, but might be the only version out this year. This might of been what they meant.

Bad news for Xbox though. GTA will NOT be on XB... It is now a Sony exclusive for 3 years.... but having Ninja Gaiden might help make up for this lose...


*EDIT* No fool... I was just messing with your head... All it means is Xb is getting a game CALLED "Tork". It's about this pervert who goes around chat rooms and has to collect beats to make some crappy rap songs....er... It's some platform game like Jak & Daxtor....

Ops, missed Sony's PS2 online info...

The online adapter will retail for $40 and will ship Aug 27th (finally). Works with dial-up and broadband connections. No mention of HDD though...

It will come with a start up disc that includes demos of online versions of various games like: Madden NFL 2003, Frequency 2, TimeSplitters 2 (I didn't know this was online, screw any offline GC version), and Tribes: Aerial Assault. But what's cool is it is said to come with a coupon to send away for the Twisted Metal Black Online append disc for free.

Online Gaming Clarifications:

XB: For 50 bucks you get a year of Xbox Live + that headset mic + Revolt Online (sure Revolt sucks, but eh still a good deal). Set for release sometime in Oct with 10-12 games by Christmas. Broadband only.

PS2: For $40 you get the online adapter + coupon for TM Black addon and demos + Frequency 2 Online! Also a good deal. Releases Aug. 27th.

GC: PS0 will be the first (and most likely only) online GC game this year.
