Anyone else having problems with the site? Really?

Hmm, over the past day or so when I tried to go to the site (I'd say 4 separate times), it didn't come up. I tried to go to the host's site www.nicewebs.com but that seemed down too. Kinda sucks. Up to this point NW had a 100% uptime. Some people have said they got it to come up here and there. I wonder what's up. I hope it's fixed fast and isn't a bad sign of things to come. Ack.....

Hmm, if it seems like it's down like this tomorrow still, I think all updates (well at least blue headlines) should maybe be temporarily suspended. Who can see them if the site is down? Plus how can they even be added?


Maybe I'm the only one with the problem? Just post something people... anything!

Hybrig had said the site was down a few times last night then when I went to check it literally five seconds later it would be working again only for it not to work for him a minute later...

I haven't been able to get on the site since late Sunday. It's not working right now for me.....

Sigh. I don't know what's up, and I have no contact infomation. Damn freebies, then again I can't access anything there including their pay accounts. Problems linking with the net? Server problems? The fact the server is located in the UK a problem? D'oh...

I've had this problem the last few days, i would just refresh the page a few times, but today, literally i refreshed the page 30 times with still no luck.


Edit:::::::::BTW the only reason i'm here is because i went to my EZboard account and checked the boards i recently checked out. So i didn't get to the boards thru the site.

first cali, you can always get here by typing in boards.nbrid.net in the address bar.

Dude... seriously, how the hell have any of you gotten on? I can't get to the site nor can I logon through FTP. If I go to nicewebs.com I just get this odd administration login.

The next time (if) the site works, can someone go to www.nicewebs.com and see if they have anything posted about any problems? Maybe on their support forums? Or maybe even just find an email I can contact about what is going on? Cause right now I'm at a lose as what to do......


*EDIT* Ok scratch that... I found my way to the site. I used some random proxy server and accessed the site through that just fine... So odd because without it I can't (and It's not me, others have the same problem). I posted on their boards on a thread about this. Aparently Nicewebs had no clue there has been any problem and said they would "look into it". So I'll have to get back to you all on what's up. All I can say is in the meantime those who cant get on... try setting your browser to use a proxy server and see if that helps........

I wont update till Nicewebs has an answer on whats up... Hopefully that will be tomorrow (even though its not up yet, maybe the spiderman review can go up Friday for obvious reasons.... I said MAYBE....).

Well seemingly any problem has been fixed as I tried early this morning and just now and was able to reach the site just fine... finally (I updated too:)

Nicewebs still says they don't know what the problem was (might not be directly their fault), so there is no guarantee it won't reappear.


But they did mention they will start to move all free sites they host to a different server. From nicewebs.com to nicewebshost.com (so our URL would become nbrid.nicewebshost.com won't effect www.nbrid.net so always use that!). Sigh, this will probably mean fixing a few things to get the site to work there. Well, they said they would email each person as their account is "moved". So stayed tuned... Just be aware there may be a move and a bumpy ride. I'm just afraid a server with just free accounts might not get the attention of the paid server and not be as reliable... :(


*EDIT* Ok it seems those dumbasses changed their name servers and didn't tell anyone. It just took time for DNS to update. But there will be another downtime again as they switch from nicewebs.com to nicewebs.net as their main hub (why? dunno, maybe selling that name?).

Yeah i got problems with the site, the interface is too fuckin messy and confusing it took me about 5 mins just to navigate to the boards! you guys should change the format...that is unless you WANT it this way..(ie confusing)

Yeah we know the ease of use of the site isn't great. Yes it takes a long time to load. Yes the layout of the site might of been overdone, in that it doesn't fit the type of site it is. Yes the layout can overshadow the content. So in short, don't go there. Just use (like it says above): boards.nbrid.net to get here.

man they must be some idiots cause i'm on earthlink and usually when a site says they're changing their DNS and that a person might have problems with the site cause of their ISp updating slow I never have any problems. They're still down as I just went to the site and got that error that its not showing up or whatever. Hopefully it'll be back up soon.
