GC Kiosacs and the GC controller... !!

I meant to post this but forgot. Has anyone played the GC at the store in one of those Kiosacs (sp) yet? I ask cause while the GC controller is pretty niffty, its kinda small. It seems to be the same size as the PS2 controller, but I heard it was supposed to be bigger, even if only slightly? Maybe the one I played was based off the Japanese one cause the US one is bigger then that. Anyone know?

It it is this small, wow that d-pad seems usless! Its way too tiny:) Otherwise the controller kicks ass! I dont know why the setup of the A surrounded by the 3 other buttons hasnt been done for years:) The clicking of the analog triggers is a consern. Its obviously a cool idea, but pushing it in that last bit seems to soft, its a little too easy to go from pushing in the trigger to clicking that final bit. I think it should of been a little harder ala Pipetmen (hehe). Oh well there is still a significant diff, just I would think sometime in the heat of battle you might push too far.

Luigi is a MUST rent is all I have to say (if I didnt know it was sooo short id say it was a must buy). Anyone read Spins VG comparisons? Pretty funny. For Pikmin, "What drugs was Shiggy on when he came up with this game? And where can we get some?"... and my fav Ill save for another time... :)

that word you're speaking of is kiosk. While I have held and dinked around with the american controllers, I still find the whole thing about averaged sized. It felt kind of akward in my hands, but it wasn't bad or anything. Just different.

lucky me hasnt played any gc games or seen any kiosks..just my stupid box...thats all i have. Well the d pad is the same size as the GBA one and if there's anything good about that is that you can manuever your thumb around it a little easier..but you can also mash the whole thing down with one finger..i hope tony 3 feels right cuz analog would suck...

Well while it is innovative, I can tell u why noone has done the button setup before. GONNA SUCK FOR FIGTHING GAMEs........big time!

I definetely agree the GC controller is gonna suck for most fighters. But not so much because of the buttons. Sure no fighter emphasizes one button over the other, but I think it would be OK on GC. The analog triggers might be a pain to use if you had to use em for punch/kick, but they would never do that to us:)

The problem is that POS d-pad. It's way to small to be useful. And who wants to play a fighter with an analog stick? Bah! Oh well it doesnt seem GC is getting many fighters anyways, besides Soul Cal 2. And supposedly Capcom is working on a special fighting controller for GC to pack in with a game (rumor says a SF game, my wishful thinking hopes MvC3:).

heh........ the only thing i've seen so far is x-box @#%$........ man microsoft sure can market good... they even made me think about getting one.......emphasizes on think....I don't think the gc controler will be bad for any games. If you got skill it doesn't really matter what the controler is like. My favorite controler of all time was the Dreamcast's though..........................yep

I have to disagree with GD. A good controller is very important. Why waste precious time trying to work around a crappy controller when you could be perfecting your game?

I'll never see how people think DC's controller is the best. Especially in light of the excellent N64 one and the Dual-Shock. The DC one isn't bad, but coming out much later than those two yet not nearlly as good, it just doesn't impress me.

For it's time, the SNES controller was amazing... :)

what i mean is no one ever makes controlers you cant jam with right? I mean at first all new controllers feal weird (to me any ways) but it doesn't really matter cuz they're never uncomfortable

IMO the DC controller is the best ever. It's so comfortable while the N64 controller I didn't like because I have small hands and it was hard for me to reach the shoulder buttons. The DC controller just like fits your hands really comfortably, I just think the only flaw the DC controller has is that it could really use a cuple more buttons.

Also, the dualshock is good, although the shoulder buttons are sometimes hard for me to use because they aren't comfortable with my index/middle fingers. I have yet to try out the GC and xbox conroller though.

XBox controller is hardly like the DC controller. I also share the belief that the DC controller was probably the best yet. I mean, it just fit into your hands, there wasn't a button you couldn't reach with ease. The whole thing flowed beautifully, and I think PS2, GC, and XBox controllers have got nothing on the good old DC controller.

well in MY opinion, the n64 is the best controller ever IF you play mostly perfect dark and smash bros on it. Now if you play crappy 3rd party games too, then you will have to go with dual shock. If the dual shock had longer handles, then it would be better but oh well. The DC controller's problem lies with its oversensitive and loose triggers. So much to push down Xbox's triggers are almost better but seem to have too much resistance. I dont like how the analog stick and d pad are positioned. My thumb makes a 90 degree angle when using that dpad and its not even a good dpad..i realize this more when i play bomberman. The flat dpad cant be beat. However i am used to the DC controller and can at least play games with it..too bad i wont play that much once GC arrives

Bah... yall fools to think that the DC controller is better than the N64 and Dual-Shock... Maybe an 8 year old could think so, or those who never actually had a N64 or PSX... The new GC controller takes the DC one to skool... I mean how can you say the N64 doesnt fit small hands yet the DC one does? And the lack of functionality of the DC controller only made it worse...

Remember, the GC controller is about the size of the Dual-Shock...
