Not that NFL2k2 is a bad game, no way, but I remember so many Sega fanboys claiming how EA sucked compared to VC. One reason was how Madden was the same year in and year out, but look at how much 2k1 was improved over 2k. Well, 2k had a lot of flaws since it was the first in the series that were easily fixable in the next edition.

Now comes 2k2. How to describe it... Well take 2k1, update the rosters, slap on a new looking interface, and you get 2k2. Yes, even the graphics don't seem any different. The 'new' interface is annoying since you can only use the analog stick to pick options/plays now even if it does look cooler. Commentary is as good as ever though with new lines ("He closed that hole faster then Eliot Ness closed down a Speakeasy").

Everything is layed out the same. Just slight differences in the interface that really are only cosmetic changes. Same stats, same everything, but there doesn't seem to be an option to d/l updated rosters (I'll have to RTFM to be sure though, which I hate doing:( Sure there may be some new plays, but it seems that VC wasted their time on sub-par WSB2k2 or 2ks on other platforns instead of trying to take NFL to the next level. It's going to have to do it next year to compete with Madden, which it will be in direct competion with... Maybe they can add even simple things like the chain gang or an ambulace to take injured players off the field:)

If you like NFL2K1, you'll be sure to like this game since the differences seem small, but alas like I said there in lies the disapointment. Havn't played it enough to comment on gameplay tweaks, but reports of an even easier running game seem true. I'm sure online is just like 2k1 but with the 2k2 records for players, but havn't tried yet.

I think I'll stick with playing Ooga Booga online for now (FADafo!). I may review it, otherwise see the review of NFL2k1...

I"ll review nfl2k2! I'm a new recruit and work for gamersmark.com but I'd love to be able to review it! If you need a sample review of mine my gamersmark.com handle is Murdoc and check out the dreamcast review of Daytona USA but it may still be under the name foo. I have alot of hours chugged into 2k2 so give me the go ahead and I'll do it!

Yeah please go ahead and review it so I don't have to:)

I'm assuming you are the "FearTheClown" I saw ranked 13 on NFL2k2:) Look for a NB1xNosher (yeah I dont know either) since that's my neighbor, er me!! (hehe)

After more play, NFL2k2 is still an awesome game. There does seem to be a few enhancements to the gameplay. My Packer Money plays (slants, quick out patterns) don't work any more:( I'll have to find something else... :) I had WAY to many INTs:) But so did the other guy... Still caint believe they didnt even touch the franchise mode... thats one area Madden wins by a landslide....

I was kinda pissed when I first went and tried it online, what was the first thing I saw... "Any Dricas Players here?"... AHHHH... I @#%$ hate those Dricas asses... dont get me started... but since 2k2 has its own top 50 Im not sure how big Dricas can be... thank god... I also find listing "Drops" kinda lame since if you start a bad laggy game your kinda screwed or if you get d/c or whatever, it's not always cause you're a baby. Yet already I see people say I wont play you cause you have too many drops (WTF? I looked and that guy had a whoopping 3!....)

The thing you have to remember bone is that, with the dreamcast going down, SEG can't spend as much time on a DC game as they used to. When you see the PS2 version of this game youll be like wow, this game is......Perfection.

JUBE: I can almost garantee that when I see the PS2's version I won't think 'perfection'. I doubt besides a graphical update it will be much different... they had to spend too much time just learning a new console first. We'll have to wait till next year for any upgrades... I hope they upgrade next year... And if it is much improved on PS2 this year it goes to show yet once again how little Sega actually cares about its gamers, their like any company, just trying to make a buck. Not that there's anything wrong with this, but just so all u sega fan boys shut da @#%$ up.

CLOWN: Heh, like I said Drops are lame. I think they hurt inocent people more then they stop quiters. And I got your review! I'll put it up in a day or so... I hope...
